The BJP had an early advantage, with Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and eight other candidates winning their seats uncontested. This pre-election success gave the ruling party a significant lead before the counting even began.

The counting of votes for the remaining 50 Assembly seats commenced at 6 a.m. with the BJP quickly taking the lead. An impressive 82.71% of voters turned out to cast their votes, deciding the fate of 133 candidates.
