Pankaj Jha disclosed that he was approached for the role of Sultan Qureshi while he was on a shoot in Patna. He mentioned that Kashyap had promised him the role, but upon his return, the part had already been assigned to Pankaj Tripathi. Despite this setback, Jha stated that he doesn’t let such politics affect him, although he did express his discontent with Kashyap’s inability to keep his word.

Jha described himself as a “director-making actor,” emphasizing that films like Satya and Gulaal not only create actors but also make directors. He criticized the industry’s lack of integrity, calling some individuals “timid and spineless” for failing to uphold their promises. However, Jha clarified that he holds no grudges against Kashyap and still admires him.
